Tweaking your PC settings for DSL: Is your PC configured for DSL?
What is tweaking your PC? Tweaking your computer for a broadband DSL connection is essentially optimizing your computer to maximize performance and take full advantage of your broadband connection. Tweaking your PC can result in major improvements in your DSL speeds and overall experience.

Tweaking may fix:

• Slow download speeds

• Download slower than upload speed

• Skipping in TCP streaming video/audio

• Blank web pages

• Connection issues to some sites

Tweaking will not fix:

• Packet loss

• Multiplayer games over UDP

• Your ping time

• Regular PC freezes

Does my PC need to be tweaked? To determine if your computer needs to be tweaked in order to optimize your performance you need to run a tweak test to get the current settings of your computer. DSL Reports (http://www.dslreports.com) offers a free tweak test on their website as well as a program to change your computers settings. The tweak test can be found at: http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks.

How to run the tweak tester? To run the tweak test please go to http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks and do the following:

1. Press the Start button on Tweak Tester II applet.

2. When the test completes press the Results button.
